Josh began working for Sentry Insurance in May of 2004 as a sales representative in Northern Illinois. His main duties included selling business insurance (property and casualty) as well as group life, dental, and disability policies. He was quickly promoted to Sales Manager for the state of Illinois in July of 2005 and was later additionally assigned the state of Indiana. His job responsibilities included recruiting, interviewing and hiring new employees, training employees and preparing them for promotion. Josh led biweekly meetings for his team with the objective of sharing product and industry information to advance individual sales. While a Sentry sales manager, Josh was selected to serve on the 2007 Manager Input Council, and he was awarded the 2006 First Quarter Sales Manager Award.
Josh started his own business because he recognized a need to be able to sell many different insurance products from many different companies as a broker rather than only offering one product as a captive agent. As peoples’ lives change, he has the flexibility to use a variety of companies and policies to address their needs.
Currently, Josh participates in a research team that reviews health insurance policies. The only focus of the team is to read through all of the policies line by line and page by page - highlighting what is good about each policy and what is bad about each policy. The research team also tracks the financial ratings and credit histories of each company to verify that they are paying their claims. Once the best policy has been identified, providing the most bang for the buck, he is able to steer his clients in that direction.
